We did enjoy our time in South Africa, with the highlight being our time with John on our safari. John was a very capable guide – very informative, and a great spotter for the wildlife that we saw. We did see 4 of the “big five” so were very pleased. Our bed and breakfast the first night was lovely, and the morning breakfast first rate. Then on to St. Lucia where the hippos and crocs were plentiful and the trip down the river was most informative and enjoyable. Our bed and breakfast in St. Lucia was also good, and most comfortable. Our safari experience, including Malala Lodge, was first rate – several different areas, each with different animals in abundance, and of course the meals at Malala Lodge were really good, and much enjoyed. Our little rondavel was most comfortable and a stroll around the property revealed zebra and other animals in close proximity. So, all in all, we were very pleased with our time. Being met at the airport, and provided with a lovely bed and breakfast before our tour with John, added to our comfort in a strange country, and was much appreciated. At the end of our tour, John dropped us off at our self catering apartment in Durban, and even offered to take us to a store to get some groceries to get us started. That offer was not taken, as our hostess made the same offer, and was very familiar with the area, but it was lovely to have the offer anyway. All in all, we did really enjoy our time on our safari, and our whole experience in South Africa. Many thanks for all your attention to the details of our trip that made it so easy for us. would also like to thank you for your personal attention to all the details of our trip, including your call to us in Durban to ensure that we had arrived safely and enjoyed our trip.
